2017 Flood Insurance Information for Stamford

The City of Stamford participates in the Community Rating System, a voluntary program of the National Flood Insurance Program that documents the flood protection measures taken by a municipality and rewards it with a scaled discount on flood insurance rates. The City’s efforts have resulted in Stamford attaining a Level 7 rating, the highest in Connecticut, providing a 15% discount on flood insurance premiums. The discount resulted in $395,299 in savings this year for the community’s 2,696 policyholders.  See more information here in this 2017 SNA flood insurance letter .

120-Hour City Parking Ordinance 

Cars parked over 5 days can be ticketed and towed.

Emergency Notification System

Stamford participates in the statewide emergency notification system.  Residents and businesses are encouraged to register.  You can  add and update your own contact information, which is password protected.  It’s a good to check to make sure you’re currently included.

Stamford also has an emergency and weather hotline:  203 977-8840.

Military Bulletin Board

Springdale Post Office now has a bulletin board honoring all past and present military members from Springdale. If you know someone in the military, and would like to have their picture posted, please leave it at the Springdale Post Office counter  (mark it to the attention:  Customer Relations Coordinator).

Complaints & Requests for City Improvements

The best way to report problems or make city service requests is via  the Citizens Service Center.  Call them at (203) 977-4140 or visit their website. You can fill out a request online, as well.  Information from residents is important in identifying problems or items in need of repair.
