Accomplishments
Since the Association’s founding in 1991, we have worked hard to improve Springdale. Please join us! Together, we can do even more to make Springdale great.
Here are just a few of our accomplishments:
- SNA raised over $4500 in 2017 Giving Day contributions to be used for the new Marilyn Trefry Park (Hope St @ Largo Dr)
- In 2017, SNA launched the Springdale Directory
- In 2016, SNA teamed with local families to spruce up the Lawton AV side of
Sleepy Hollow Park. - In fall 2016, SNA organized our first Coffee with a Cop event
- In summer 2016, the SNA Mean Clean and Green Team donated over 150 hours of labor toward beautifying and maintaining the park and business district
- In September 2016, SNA hosted a popup street garden for Stamford PARKing Day
- SNA successfully collaborated on creation of a Springdale Village Commercial District with our city planners
- Coordinated Train Station renovation with State Representatives and Department of Transportation
- Planted trees and hundreds of flowers on Hope Street
- Annual Spring and Fall Cleanups
- Tree-Lighting Ceremony every December
- Initiated and coordinated a Mural Project on Mulberry Street through a grant
- Installed town clock & garden at Springdale train station
- Successfully campaigned for renovation/expansion of Weed Memorial Hollander Branch Library
- Graffiti removal and prevention program
- Participation in Fire Safety Day with Springdale Fire Department
- Worked with U.S. Postal Service on design of the Camp Avenue Post Office
- Community Bulletin Board at the Springdale Shopping Center
- Host of Mayor’s Night Out at the Weed Memorial and Hollander Branch Library
